On September 9, 2015, Geo Animation Studios is developing a new animated feature film inspired by That's My Horse! 2 months before its release. The film's special effects and backgrounds were done by Geo Animation Studios. The character designs and post-production services were done by Geo Rendering System, while the majority of the animation was done by Illusion Studios in Argentina.

Songs from Gaturro: The Movie will be reused for Top Hat Cap's singing voice, provided by Samuel Vincent.

The film will be released theatrically in July 10, 2017 in the United States, especially with a new flash-animated short film "The Cutie Mark Crusaders in I'm Mad". It was animated by Six Point Harness. This marks the Cutie Mark Crusaders' second theatrical appearance. It uses the Animaniacs song "I'm Mad".
